UW Recycling collects clean wood waste, including pallets, for composting. Clean wood waste has no paint, oil, Styrofoam, or shrink wrap on it. Note: wood waste that has paint or other contaminants can be recycled as construction and demolition waste.

Pallets

Stack pallets on your building’s loading dock. UW Recycling regularly picks up pallets at most loading docks. If your building does not have a loading dock or if you have placed a large number of pallets on the dock, contact UW Recycling at recycle@uw.edu. Note: if the quantity or size of pallets is large, there may be a charge for the pickup.

Other clean wood waste
