Campus planning

The University of Washington campus master plans establish a shared long-term vision and guide the responsible growth and physical development of its three campuses. The plans incorporate input from diverse campus and community partners and are approved by the UW Board of Regents.

2024 UW Medical Center-Northwest Master Plan (pdf)
The Seattle City Council approved the UWMC-Northwest Major Institution Master Plan and rezone on April 8, 2025, completing a two and a half year community process.

2019 Seattle Campus Master Plan (pdf)
Building on the 2003 plan, the 2019 plan includes a 10-year conceptual plan as required by the City-University Agreement and provides design guidance and development standards for plan implementation. The Seattle City Council and Board of Regents approved the plan in February 2019.

2017 UW Bothell & Cascadia College Campus Master Plan (pdf)
The UW Bothell + Cascadia College Campus Master Plan is the result of a joint collaboration between both institutions with coordination and cooperation with the City of Bothell and the community. Completed in December 2017, the plan establishes a shared long-term vision for the campus, serving as the basis for future development and regulatory action.

2008 Tacoma Campus Master Plan (pdf)
UW Tacoma’s master planning document includes updated transportation and infrastructure plans that respond to changes to the campus mission and as well as the evolving needs of the surrounding urban community. The Board of Regents approved the plan in November 2008.
