We support the promotion of campus events and activities while maintaining a beautiful and well kept campus grounds.
If you are borrowing boards please include your budget number on the request form. There is no fee for this service, or for board rentals. However, if equipment is returned damaged or goes missing, or there is damage from sign placement, we will bill you $40 per board for replacement boards.
Signs may only be used to promote an established University program or University sponsored function.
There is no fee for this service. If sign placement causes damage to campus, or UW Facilities prints materials for you, you will be charged.
Requests and artwork must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the display date.
Sizes and material recommendations:
Banners must fit within the attachment standards of the facility of which it will be attached. Banners must be made of durable fabric, some examples of this include:
Banners must have corner grommets and a grommet every 48” on the top and bottom for securing. Most buildings fit 10’ x 3’ or 12’ x 3’ banners, Mary Gates Hall and Odegaard use 30’ x 3’ banners, Kane Hall fits 30’ x 4’.

Materials and labor for banner installation will be charged to the sponsoring department. One banner installation and removal typically costs $350 per building, or $750 for Red Square Stacks.
Signs must be affiliated with UW and sponsored by a department or student group.
Pole banners hang along the University’s main roadways. These banners may only be used by campus units promoting campus events and activities that they’re sponsoring. Banners must meet our standards and be approved by the Campus Signage Committee. Our department installs and removes all banners.
The artwork (in exact color) of the proposed banner must be submitted with the request for approval form. The exact location(s) the number of banners and installation and removal dates must also be included with the request.

Your request must have University sponsorship from a dean, director or chair of sponsoring department. Signs may only be used to promote an established University program or University sponsored function.
The request form must be submitted for approval at least 30 days prior to the requested installation date. Your request will be reviewed by the Campus Signage Committee and a decision made within two weeks.
