Finance & Business Services is one of nine FS departments. It is composed of a diverse set of of work groups supporting other FS units and providing services to the University.
The Minor Capital Repairs Program helps address deferred maintenance projects and major equipment/infrastructure replacement needs. Examples of typical Minor Capital projects might be a cooling tower or boiler replacement, roof repairs, building envelope repairs or replacing/upgrading obsolete equipment or utility infrastructure components.
The Resource Conservation Program plans and implements capital investments that reduce energy and water waste in state-funded facilities on the Seattle campus. The program administers a “green revolving fund” for conservation projects that qualify for utility rebates and grants. The program provides leadership, technical support, and public information to Facilities Services, campus process partners and the UW community at large in the areas of sustainability, greenhouse gas reduction, Salmon Safe certification, energy and water conservation.
FABS also provides a variety of services internal to Facilities Services. (FS employees only)
