Building access

UW building access is controlled through the Campus Automated Access Management System (CAAMS) as well as individual locks, keys and access cards. Exterior doors for some buildings are also locked and unlocked manually according to the specific open hours of the building.

Common requests

  • If you are locked out of your building and need one-time access, contact your Building coordinator.
  • The UW Police Department may be able to assist in certain urgent circumstances. Please contact the UWPD through their non-emergency number to see if they can assist: 206-685-UWPD (8973).
  • If you want to make changes to a building’s access hours, see the Changes to building hours service option below.

UW Facilities provides keys to Building coordinators, colleges and departments so that building and space access can be managed locally.

Building keycard access is assigned to active Husky Cards. Temporary Cards can be requested to provide CAAMS access to non-Husky cardholders (e.g., vendors and contractors).

The following locations have an internal key request process. Tenants should contact the appropriate group.
