Campus Architecture & Planning (CAP) provides vision, leadership, and oversight to guide development of the University’s built environment. Our work within the UWF Asset Management organization is with an emphasis on front end and early initiation projects related to:
- Campus planning
- Space allocation
- Asset preservation and renewal
- Campus beautification and art
We partner with campus units and external agencies on:
- Data management
- Capital planning and resource allocation
- Entitlement strategies
Campus Planning shapes the long-term direction of the University’s physical environment through strategic, integrated planning. By advancing campus and focused area plans and supporting projects from early concept through entitlement, CAP aligns land use and development decisions with institutional priorities and future needs.
Campus planning covers:
- Open space
- Buildings (including historic preservation)
- Non-motorized circulation (walking paths, bike lanes, accessibility, etc.)
- Motorized circulation (roads, public transportation access, etc.)
- Utilities

CAP champions design excellence across the University’s natural and built environments to protect campus character and enrich the shared experience of students, faculty, staff and visitors. Portfolio Managers provide strategic leadership for building system renewals and campuswide infrastructure investments that address deferred maintenance and advance the University’s mission. Through data-informed planning, cross-functional collaboration, and stewardship of campus assets and properties, they help shape projects from early formation through delivery while supporting building occupants.

Account Managers work with units to ensure the alignment of assigned space with their program needs. As necessary, they identify and evaluate physical space solutions to meet emerging needs, using space and asset data to inform decisions.
