The Anderson Hall Renovation project will renovate the existing building to maximize programmatic impact for the occupants, address deferred maintenance deficiencies in the building and comply with code-required building systems upgrades to prolong the life of the building. The project scope is proposed to include strategic re-location and re-configuration or in-place renovation of key program spaces to better support the School of Environmental and Forest Science’s instructional and research activities in support of its mission, combined with strategic systems infrastructure improvements to enhance occupant comfort, well-being and performance. Renovation of this significant structure will also reinforce the historical significance of Anderson Hall within the existing campus fabric.
Prioritized scope includes: creating an accessible building entry; providing elevator service to the four-story building to fit within the existing roofline; improved toilet rooms throughout the building bringing them into current ADA compliance and ensuring that all-gender facilities are available; and providing a Wellness Room to support occupant health. Additional scope will include code-required upgrades (life safety, accessibility, seismic, energy code, etc); electrical, lighting, mechanical and communications systems upgrades in impacted work areas; and building envelope improvements to improve thermal performance while preserving the building’s historic character.
