TEAM SPOTLIGHT
Transportation Services is celebrating the 35th anniversary of the U-PASS with a series of events this month. In 1991, U-PASS was created as the culmination of a student-led effort. The events give the UW community the chance to celebrate a UW benefit that is popular now but was "revolutionary and changed the landscape of transportation" at the time, said Transportation Services' Braden Kelly.
The Employee Transit Fair in UW Tower on April 8 featured representatives from transit partners, while the U-PASS Birthday Celebration in the HUB on April 16 included activities for students to show off their transit knowledge and get a piece of birthday cake. A fair at UW Medical Center will conclude the month's activities on April 28. View photos from the April 8 and April 16 events.

"He loves to get his 10K steps a day, then follows that up by taking a long nap. He's a gentle friend to everyone he meets and just might let you pet him if you have treats. He's always eager to jump into the car and go for a ride, although most often it's in hopes that he will end up with a pupcup on the way.
"Even though he is already five he will forever be a baby in my eyes, and I can't imagine life without him."

Correction: Last month’s newsletter misstated the positions of two new employees. Their positions should’ve been listed as follows: Brian Mihelic, Control Technician Shop 50, CEUO; Francis Guzha, Motor Equipment Service Attendant, Transportation Services. Last month’s newsletter also listed a retiree’s name as Simon Yus, when the correct spelling is Simon Yu.
