Employee resources
Take a walk with UWF's own Chris Pennington, June 23 Celebrate UW Walk Week (and the arrival of summer!) with guided, in-person walks around campus. Sign up to walk with Chris or other walk ambassadors and get out there!
Best practices for employee recognition Employee recognition is a critical factor in employee morale and retention, but sometimes it's hard to know where to start. Get inspiration from the collection of ideas put together over the years by multiple UWF work groups, now available at the Employee Recognition page on the Partner Resources website. And don't forget that a simple "Thank You" for a job well done is always effective.
Fully subsidized U-PASS benefit expanded
All personnel paid by the UW will be eligible for a fully subsidized U-PASS as of July 1, 2022. This benefit provides unlimited rides on regional buses, commuter trains, light rail and water taxis as well as full fare coverage on vanpools. Learn more at the Transportation Services website.
TRAINING NEWS
Online class list updated The Online training links page on the UWF Partner Resources website contains a complete list of required online classes for UWF employees. The UWF Training Center also sends out a monthly notification to all staff individually of online classes that need to be completed and a similar report for shop/area supervisors.
Stepping Stones for Success Two new cohorts — one from Building Services and a combined one from Maintenance & Construction and Campus Energy & Utility Operations — are taking part in this year's leadership development program. After completing the first section on people skills, they are taking the next step into practical skills, where they will learn about the work done by positional leaders in UWF. This will be partnered with a shadowing time so they can sit with leaders to see how those practical and people skills are executed in real time. These 22 front-line employees are engaged, thoughtful, and eager to showcase the skills they are learning in the classroom through this program.
Contact us Please reach out to the UWF Training Center ( fstrain@uw.edu) with questions or suggestions on how we can better support your learning experience.
