Priority group shopping appointments

Priority group shopping

Under Washington state regulations, eligible priority groups (UW departments, state or local government agencies, and certain nonprofit organizations) may purchase surplus property before it is made available to the general public. Priority Groups may shop as long as they like within our in-person shopping hours. Make a quick trip, or a long one!

UW departments qualify as a priority group by purchasing with a valid NETID and appropriate worktag information. No appointment required. Just looking for office supplies? Save yourself the trip! Select items can now be ordered online for delivery through Campus Mail. Simply fill out this form and Surplus staff will send the requested materials right to your office.

Nonprofit organizations and government agencies must provide documentation confirming they represent an eligible organization. Please schedule an appointment before arriving so we can ensure all required paperwork is on file for your group.

In-person shopping hours

Mondays: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Thursdays: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Fridays: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Purchasing policy

Property purchased by designated buyers must be for the expressed use of the Priority Group. Designated buyers are not allowed to purchase items for personal use or resale. If you wish to purchase items for personal use or resale, you are considered a member of the public and you must shop during our Public store hours or via our online storefront. Please visit the UW Surplus store page for more information.

Buyers who do not meet priority group eligibility are considered members of the general public and may purchase surplus property through timed auctions or the public store.
