COVID-19: Adjustments in operations
UW Surplus continues to operate with temporary service adjustments to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 while continuing to support critical campus functions.
Priority groups (UW departments, nonprofit organizations and government agencies) may shop at the UW Surplus store by appointment only on Mondays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
We are offering 20-minute and 45-minute appointment slots. Please plan to keep your visit as short as possible in keeping with the state’s safe gathering guidelines.
Property purchased by designated buyers must be for the expressed use of the Priority Group. You are considered a member of the public if you want to purchase an item for your own personal use. Please visit the UW Surplus store page for more information.
Shopping by appointment
In-person appointments are offered in 20-minute or 45-minute blocks to members of priority groups (UW departments, nonprofit organizations and government agencies). Customers who arrive at the warehouse without an appointment will be asked to wait until staff are available to serve them. All visitors to UW Surplus are required to wear face coverings and maintain 6 feet of space between themselves and others, regardless of vaccination status.
In-person appointment hours:
Mondays: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Thursdays: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
We are closed December 20 - 31 for shopping as we complete our annual inventory.
A 20-minute visit is ideal if you are just picking up one or two things or have a good idea of what you’re looking for.
A 45-minute visit gives you more time to pick up multiple items or need a little more time to browse.
Please note: Designated buyers are not allowed to purchase items for their own personal use. If you wish to purchase items for personal use, you must use the online store.
