UW Surplus continues to work with our University partners to take the necessary steps to protect and safeguard our community. Safety and well-being is our number one priority.

Starting Thursday, July 9th, the UW Surplus Store will operate under temporary service adjustments to support sales to all priority groups by appointment only (UW Departments, Non-Profits & Government Agencies). Appointments are offered in time blocks of 30 or 60 minutes and may be canceled if necessary. Customers who arrive at the Surplus warehouse without an appointment will be asked to wait if we are serving a client who has scheduled in advance. Wearing face coverings and maintaining 6 feet of space between yourself & others is expected of all visitors to the Surplus warehouse.

New Store Hours for Priority Groups:
Monday: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, by appointment (face covering required)
Thursday: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, by appointment (face covering required)

Face coverings or masks are required indoors for all employees, students, and guests on UW campuses.

The 30 Minute Visit is ideal if you are just picking up one or two things or have a good idea of what you’re looking for. Masks are required. We are looking forward to seeing you!

The 1 hour Visit is perfect if you are picking up multiple items or need a little more time to browse for an item with that je ne sais quoi. Masks are required. We are looking forward to seeing you!

Priority Groups members shopping on behalf of their organization may make appointments to visit the Surplus Store. Employees shopping for themselves are considered members of the Public and may not purchase items at this time.

However, we are happy to announce that we will soon be launching an online store to serve all our community members—including our customers shopping as members of the public. Keep an eye out for more information in the coming weeks.

6 Lots of Steelcase Chairs Available!

The University of Washington Surplus Property program is pleased to offer multiple lots of 15 wheeled nesting chairs. The chairs are constructed of sturdy black metal and plastic bases and purple upholstered seats. They glide smoothly on 4 wheels attached to an X-shaped base and fold compactly to store easily when not in use. The chairs are in excellent condition overall, with some having minor cosmetic damage, such as small tears or discoloration (see example in photos). The chairs are ideal for the office, classroom, or anywhere else you need flexible seating solutions.

How to Submit a Purchase Request:

E-mail surplus@uw.edu with your request. Please fill out the list below and copy and paste the information into the body of your email. Surplus Staff will look for your items and send you purchasing and pick-up directions. Thanks!

PLEASE NOTE: This items are located at Friday Harbor Labs on San Juan Island, northeast of the UW Seattle campus; they are NOT located at UW Seattle.

Description from Friday Harbor Labs staff: These are new-in-box bunk beds without mattresses. Twin over twin size (check dimensional diagram to ensure you get the right size mattresses). These are the complete bed frames, less mattresses. Very sturdy construction, attractive Mission style. Pick up at Friday Harbor Labs, Maintenance Building, on San Juan Island.
