Challenge starts November 1 - Register today
Riders on the Burke-Gilman Trail with RITR logo

Thousands of UW students, faculty, and staff have discovered the joys of bike commuting even in the misty months. This November 1 - 30, challenge yourself to join them with the Ride in the Rain Commute Challenge.

Participating is easy. Just register (using your UW email), form or join a team (solo option available), choose University of Washington in your Rider Profile, ride your bicycle to/from campus, and log your trips. You’ll enjoy the chance to ride, captain a team, compete with other teams, or just connect with other Husky riders.

Our UW event, currently in its 15th year, has grown so much in recent years that it is now part of a statewide event – thanks to our partnership with Washington Bikes! Join your fellow UW colleagues and compete against other Washington organizations for great prizes!

Sign up for the Ride in the Rain challenge!

Captain a Team

Want to take the initiative and lead a team of cyclists? Become a team captain!

“I think everyone benefits from the shared purpose of being on a team,” says former faculty member and Ride in the Rain captain Sharona Gordon, “and I think everyone benefits from being outdoors and moving around.”  Read more about Sharona’s captain experience on The Whole U blog.

Just select “Start Your Own Team” when you register.

Raise a Glass

Want to hang out with other cyclists and toast your commute? Join us at the Ride in the Rain Happy Hour – Peddler Brewing Company on Thursday, November 16, 7 - 9 p.m., 1514 NW Leary Way.

We’re looking forward to another fun and safe year of pedaling to campus, weather or not!
