Night permit

Night permits are available for employees and students who need to park between 4 p.m. and 8 a.m. on weekdays, and all day on Saturdays. To purchase a quarterly or annual night permit, come to Transportation Services in person with your Husky Card and current vehicle registration. Vehicle registrations can be submitted online prior to visiting Transportation Services.

Lots are assigned at the time of purchase.

How much do night permits cost?

The rate for this permit is $150.00 per quarter.

How do I cancel my night permit?

Employees may return their night permits to Transportation Services at any time for a refund of future days paid. If you elected payroll deductions as your payment type and wish to stop deductions, you must return the permit to Transportation Services and sign a stop-deduction form. The registered permit holder remains responsible for the payment of the permit fee until the permit is physically returned to Transportation Services or expires.

Student may return their permits to Transportation Services at any time for a refund of future days paid.

Refunds will be processed in the same manner the initial payment was received. If you paid by credit card, you must bring the same card to receive your refund. If you paid by check or in cash, please note that refund amounts in excess of $100 will take 4-6 weeks to process. Husky Card account purchases will be refunded same-day onto your Husky Card.

How do I use it?

To properly display your night permit, hang it on your rear-view mirror or display it on the driver’s side dashboard fully visible from the exterior of the vehicle, with the area designator facing the windshield.

Short-term Night permits

Short-term night permits are available for employees and students who need to park between 4 p.m. and 8 a.m. on certain days of the week. To purchase a short-term night permit, come to Transportation Services in person with your Husky Card and current vehicle registration. Vehicle registrations can be submitted online prior to visiting Transportation Services.

Lots are assigned at the time of purchase.

How much does it cost?

Short-term night permits cost $2.50 per day.

What else should I know?

If you specify for your short-term night permit to include Saturdays, you can park all day on Saturdays during the period for which the permit is valid.

Night Extension permits

The night extension permit provides parking to UW faculty, staff or student permit holders needing to park on campus up to an hour and a half (1.5 hours) before the start time of your night permit. This permit is available for purchase at any campus gatehouse.

How much do night extensions cost?

The cost of a night extension depends on the time of purchase:

  • $6.00 if purchased between 2:30 and 3 p.m.
  • $3.00 if purchased between 3 and 3:30 p.m.
  • $2.00 if purchased between 3:30 and 4 p.m.
