
Transportation Services staff are available to help you at gatehouses Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. and on Saturdays from 7 a.m. until noon.

The Daily/Night permit provides parking and/or loading and unloading privileges for a single day.

The Daily permit is available for purchase from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. for $15.00.
The Night permit is available for purchase from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturdays from 7 a.m. to noon for $5.00. IMPORTANT: The Central Plaza Garage charges a non-refundable $10.00 event rate each evening from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Saturdays from 7 a.m. until noon.
The U-PASS Carpool permit provides incentive to UW faculty, staff, and students to commute to campus by means other than the single occupant vehicle. U-PASS Carpool permits cost $7.50 for vehicles with two (2) valid U-PASS members; or $5.00 for vehicles with three (3) or more valid U-PASS members. Eligibility for this permit requires all participants to have a valid U-PASS.

The Motorcycle permit provides daily parking for motorized bikes such as motorcycles, scooters etc. as defined in the Washington Administrative Code (WAC). The cost is $5.00.

The Inpatient Hourly permit provides flexibility in parking to customers with extenuating circumstances and/or do not have adequate funds to pay the Daily parking rate. Examples of these types of requests are, but not limited to:
The customer or department stops at a campus gate house or call the Parking Operations Office at 206-685-1553 (if already parked) to describe the need along with specific vehicle information and location. Parking Operations staff issues the Hourly permit and mail-in envelope or places the items on the vehicle in the field. Payment must be made upon exit or as soon as possible via mail.
Note:The Inpatient Hourly permit accrues fees until the patient is out of the hospital or up to the maximum daily rate according to the circumstances as explained at the time of issuance.

The Parking Card permit process starts with a request by the paying department to the Commuter Services Sales and Administration Office. Once the card has been issued the actual permit is generated at a campus gate house each time a Parking Card is presented. The cost is Daily or Night rate depending upon time of entry.

The Child Drop Off permit provides thirty (30) minutes of complimentary parking to parents or other responsible adults who have mentally or physically handicapped children or well children enrolled in UW research programs. These individuals may receive a parking permit which allows them to use any convenient parking space or load zone to take their child or children into the building or research facility.

The Commercial Delivery permit provides thirty (30) minutes of complimentary parking to individuals delivering goods to campus in unmarked commercial delivery vehicles. The driver must present a UW purchase order, invoice or bill of lading at the gate house. Stays in excess of 30 minutes require the payment of the applicable parking fee. (See Service Permits below)

The Service Permit provides daily parking for non-affiliated UW contract on campus to perform service or maintenance. These permits are sold at the standard daily parking rate. Please note: these permits do not allow parking in designated Load Zones for any amount longer than the time designated.

The Press/Media permit provides complimentary parking to members of the press who are on campus to pursue a story. Occupants of unmarked press vehicles must provide acceptable ID to verify their occupation. Acceptable forms of ID include: Working Press credentials or a business cards with photo ID.

The Official permit provides complimentary parking to utility meter readers and other city, county or state agencies making inspections in marked vehicles, Law Enforcement Officers on official business, rental vehicles used as university vehicles and presenting UW Fleet Services rental agreement and mortuary vehicles performing duties.

The Out of Area permit provides complimentary parking to UW employee parking permit holders in an area outside of their regularly assigned lot or overflow lot for work-related meetings, classes and duties that require proximity parking. Parking Specialists will request to see an appropriately marked commuter ticket or valid employee permit, and active Husky card, prior to issuance . If the request exceeds three consecutive days Parking Specialists may refer the permit holder to the Permit Sales and Administration Office to find an alternative option. Students with valid daytime parking permits are assigned a single parking lot and are not be able to obtain Out-Of-Area permits from campus gatehouses before 4pm. After 4 p.m. until 6 a.m. the next day, when parking availability increases, students with valid daytime parking permits, except for E18 permits, may park in unrestricted parking lots. Students with AVI cards may use unrestricted areas but must stop at a campus gatehouse to receive an Out-Of-Area permit to display. Note: Daytime quarterly, annual, short term or commuter ticket permit holders may also park in unrestricted lots after 4 p.m. Please be sure to check the signage upon entry.

The Alternate Vehicle permit provides UW faculty, staff and student permit holders who qualify, a temporary one day replacement permit should they be without their assigned permit. Please note that commuter tickets holders are ineligible for this permit. If the request exceeds three consecutive days Parking Specialists refer the permit holder to the Permit Sales and Administration Office to find suitable resolution.
