Bike Buddy Request Form

Bike Buddies is a program that connects experienced bike commuters with new riders.

Request Help from a Bike Buddy

The Bike Buddy service is designed to introduce you to UW students, faculty, and staff volunteers who ride from your neighborhood to campus and have bike commuting figured out. Once you submit this form, our Commute Options staff will send an email to you and a Bike Buddy who we think is a good match for you. Bike Buddies are instructed to get in touch with you directly.

Every Bike Buddy interaction is unique - so let them know what your needs are and what you specifically want to learn from them. There are a few things you should do to make the experience great:

  • Have a working bike (your Bike Buddy isn’t a bike mechanic)
  • Have a U-Lock or other durable lock (you need this to lock your bike on campus)
  • Have a bike helmet that fits (helmets must be worn by law in King County)
  • Follow the rules of the road (bikes have all the same responsibilities as car drivers)

This form is designed for new riders who are looking for help and advice from a UW Bike Buddy. If you are interested in being a Bike Buddy, fill out this survey instead.

(This is the address we will use to connect you with your Bike Buddy matches.)

(Knowing this helps us make better matches.)

What intersection/cross-streets do you live near? ex - NE 15th Ave and 70th st (this allows us to make close matches - we don’t share this information)
