HR	Paid Family and Medical Leave.The popularity of the state’s new PFML insurance program has increased wait times to process applications. PFML is available when time off is needed to care for oneself or a family member. A reminder about how to apply can be found here.
Safety	Coronovirus concerns? As the respiratory illness COVID-19 continues to spread around the world, a UW advisory committee on communicable diseases is monitoring the outbreak. Learn more at the UW’s new FAQ page.
Training	Stepping Stones for Success starts again in March. The program includes units on Payroll and Leave Management, Performance Management, Understanding Contracts, and Recruiting and Hiring. This session is primarily for Building Services employees but if your group is interested, please contact Page Russell or Sarah Lewis-Assink at the Facilities Training Center.

March 22: UW Cherry Blossom Run: Register to run a 5K or go the distance of a half marathon and enjoy a jaunt through Northeast Seattle communities. Not interested in running but still want to participate and cheer on UWF runners? Consider volunteering along the course!
RecycleMania continues through March 27: A national competition for colleges and universities designed to increase both waste diversion and reduction on campus. Get involved by recycling & composting, requesting a Trash Talk for your team, joining UW Recycling events, or competing in the social media competitions! Check out @UWRecycling on Facebook or Instagram for details.

Husky Green Awards

Nominate a fellow Green Superhero

UW Sustainability needs your help to identify sustainability superstars at the University of Washington. The annual Husky Green Awards recognize individuals and teams from all UW campuses who show environmental dedication and leadership. Award winners are identified through nominations from the UW community, so this is your chance to give students, faculty and staff recognition for their sustainability efforts.
