IT
New email address for IT support: Got a question about AIM, PMWeb or just need help with desktop support or another UW Facilities IT service? Send all your IT requests to uwftech@uw.edu.
This new address replaces the following email addresses: cpdhelp@uw.edu, fs-tech@uw.edu, fsaim@uw.edu, fsreport@uw.edu and fsweb@uw.edu.
Comp time deadlines to know about: Employees can use and accrue comp time through June 15, 2019. Additionally, staff can use comp time and holiday credit through June 30, 2019, as long as their leave request is entered and approved in Workday by June 15, 2019. Please note:
Comp time cannot be accrued between June 16-30. Any overtime in that period will be paid out.
Leave entered in Workday after June 15 requesting use of accrued comp time or holiday credit will automatically be changed to vacation and deducted from the vacation leave balance.
After June 15, all remaining unused comp time and holiday credit will be paid out on the first paycheck in July. Accrual of comp time may resume on July 1, 2019.
Safety
It’s bat season again: While bats are useful predators that help control insects, they may also carry rabies. If you encounter a bat in a UW building, do NOT try to capture it. Instead, immediately notify Customer Care (206-685-1900) and they will contact the appropriate vendor and notify Environmental Health & Safety. If you can safely enclose the bat in an area by shutting a door, do so. Please also report sick or injured bats on the ground to Customer Care as well.
If you have unintended contact with a bat during work (for example, one flies into you) immediately contact Employee Health (206) 685-1026 for guidance.
HR
New way to hire: We’ve streamlined how managers can request authorization for new hires and other position changes using DocuSign. More about the Position Request Process online.
Training
So long, TMS, hello Bridge:UW Facilities is migrating to Bridge, a Learning Management System and training records database already being used in Driver Safety and online EH&S courses. The new system will make it easier to deliver content and track training. More information coming soon.
TED Talk Wednesdays: Do you love popcorn and new ideas? Join us every Wednesday at 12:30pm at the Training Center for a riveting TED talk. Hear powerful ideas and stories that will help introduce you to new ideas and open your perspective. Bring your lunch if you like, and popcorn is on us.
